Medicare Override Vote Scheduled for 5:30pm EDT!
by Jason Groves | Tuesday, July 15, 2008
After President Bush’s defiant veto this afternoon, the Senate is
poised for an override vote. According the Majority Leader Harry Reid,
the vote will take place at around 5:30pm.
Sen. Ted Kennedy whose return to the Senate floor last week helped
usher in a great victory for patients and doctors alike, is currently
undergoing treatment for his cancer and is not expected to vote today.
Sen. Reid is confident that Kennedy’s participation will not be needed
since many GOP lawmakers reinforced their continued support for the
bill.
Sen. John McCain is still nowhere to be found.
