Here’s something that you've known for a while, but didn’t have the facts to back it up: you're the best!
Every year, Gallup releases their Honesty and Ethics survey of various professions. Today, the results are in, and it brings some very good news. For the seventh year in a row, and for the ninth time in ten years, nurses are ranked number one on the list, with 84% percent of Americans calling” nurses’ “honesty and ethical standards either ‘high’ or ‘very high.”
If you’re not a nurse, don’t feel down: healthcare-related fields make up three out of the four most honest and ethical professions. Pharmacists are ranked number two, with 70% of American ranking the standards “high” or “very high,” and doctors come in fourth at 64%.
What does this mean? While Americans think our healthcare system is broken due to high costs and low access, they have full confidence, faith and trust in the healthcare workforce. Why is this important? Because it reinforces why caregivers, more than any other group, should be at the center of the fight for better healthcare in America.
To promote this latest RN accolade, we've cooked up some “We’re #1” plaque graphics that you can embed on your blog, website, or social network of choice. This way, you can spread the word on Healthcare United, showcase the news and congratulate everyone at the same time. Just paste the following code on your blog:
